Oenology Holiday Idea

• Château Rousset : This wine domain is in Gréoux-les-Bains not far from the campsite. Unfortunately, no visitors are permitted inside the beautiful chateau, but you can, however, try tasting their delicious wines. Red, white or rosé; it’s all top quality. The reds are mainly produced from Syrah, Mourvèdre and Grenat varieties of grape and are a real delicacy. For white wine, we recommend le Bambin made entirely from the viognier variety. The others are nonetheless equally good. As for the rosé, try it all!
• Domaine St Jean : This wine-growing domain is in Manosque. To get there, you must follow the road that runs parallel to the EDF* Canal (French electricity board). Once there, you will receive a royal welcome and the wine they produced is good quality.
• Domaine la Blaque : This domain in Pierrevert has recently become organic. It offers a selection of very good wines that will store well for a long time. It also produces a white wine made 100% vignier grape variety with a hint of peach. The red is strong and fruity. Prepare yourself for a flavour bonanza.
• Cave Coopérative de Quinson : Only 10 minutes away. We serve their wine at our campsite. At the Cooperative, they offer a wide selection of delicious wines and local products.

Here are our two favourites which both work well:

• Château Tuerry : Their rosé is truly wonderful, the red incredibly fruity and the white has a delicious flavour, not forgetting their superb Chaix. Located in Villecroze, it’s the ideal place to tantalise your taste buds so what are you waiting for?
• Château de Berne : The most famous in the area with a beautiful setting and wine cellar. It is famous for its rectangular bottles and its wines are all equally delicious!

As the château is based in Flayosc, you will be able to visit the Provençal department of the Var at the same time!

“As far as we are concerned, le Château Paradis is one of the best wines produced in the Aix region. A real delicacy fermented in oak barrels, which is rare in our local area.

We also recommend the Domain des 4 Tours: charming setting and very good wine.

For the True Wine Lovers : The campsite is a two-hour drive from the Châteauneuf du Pape wine-growing region. If you fancy it, why not visit for a spot of wine-tasting? The wine-growing areas of Gigondas and Vacqueras are an equal distance away. You could even visit all three in the same day if you have someone to drive you who isn’t drinking, of course!”
